    Abstract:

    The chromatic aberration and effective power transmission spectra of planoconvex lenses made from high and low density polyethylene, TPX, polypropylene, PTFE and polystyrene have been calculated for the spectral region between 50 and 500cm~(-1). The calculations are based on optical constant data derived from measurements by dispersive Fourier transform spectroscopy.
